Bettina Hoy riding Seigneur Medicott, produced a lovely dressage test scoring 31.4 marks and take the lead at Leg 4 of the Event Rider Masters.  The performance puts her into pole position heading into the second day of the competition tomorrow.  Bettina holds a three-point advantage over Australia’s Andrew Hoy and Cheeky Calimbo (34.4) and Lt. Col Thibaut Vallette and Qing De Briot ENE HN (34.8) are in third place for France.

“He is so reliable”, Bettina commented on Seigneur Medicott who won the CIC*** German Championship last month on a remarkable finishing score of 26.3.  “He always gives 150% and although he was a bit tense outside of the arena today, but he delivered inside it.  I now need to focus on being competitive tomorrow and delivering the results”.

Following a fascinating first day of Eventing dressage all of the top ten horse and rider combinations produced a ‘sub 40’ dressage mark.  Ahead of tomorrow’s showjumping phase there are less than eight marks separating the top ten competitors. The competition will conclude with the thrilling cross country ran in reverse order of merit and the scene is set for a nail biting second day of competition.
