This afternoon, Thomas Carlile will start the cross country phase of the third leg of the Event Rider Masters series in pole position. The Frenchman riding Upsilon maintained their overnight dressage score of 30.8 when jumping a faultless showjumping round on Sunday morning at the Barbury International Horse Trials.

Andrew Nicholson (NZL) jumped clear on Nereo but, gained one time penalty in the showjumping. However, the combination also maintain their overnight position of second on a score of 35.9.

Fellow countryman Jesse Campbell and Kaapachino unfortunately had several rails, which, dramatically dropped them down the order from third place after dressage to twenty fourth going into the cross country. Britain’s Pippa Funnel riding Chippieh sits third place on 39.3 and Sir Mark Todd on Leonidas II lie in fourth on 39.50.
