Day 2 has started in nail biting style with the leaderboard having a big shake up before the riders tackle this afternoons cross country test. There were just 10 clear rounds with the time proving very tight and the novelty optional final fence giving riders a choice, they either had to take on a maximum height upright planks or a longer route over an inviting oxer. The class was split nearly 50:50 between the two. China’s Alex Hua Tian riding his own Don Geniro leapt into the lead with a clear round inside the time when Clark Montgomery representing the USA sadly lowered a fence, which dropped him into second place ahead of the cross country. The top five are represented by five nations with New Zealand’s Jonelle Price slotting into third with Izzy Taylor of Great Britain snapping at her heels and Bill Levett of Australia sitting in fifth.
