Germany’s Niklas Bschorer leads after the dressage phase on a score of 37 points at Leg 6 of the Event Rider Masters (ERM).  The experienced Sir Mark Todd (NZL) sits in second on 38.7 and Chris Burton (AUS) is in third on 38.9 points.

The diversity of age within the athletes competing in the £400,000 2017 Event Rider Masters was highlighted as nearly forty years of age separate Niklas Bschorer (22) and Sir Mark Todd (61).

Niklas rode a stunning dressage test on Tom Tom Go 3, scoring a mark of 37. Niklas, who has previously ridden on a full-time basis, but now combines competing with studying medicine, made the journey from Germany to Scotland specifically to compete in the penultimate leg of the ERM series.

 Niklas, who has experienced success at Blair before, commented;

 “Tom Tom Go 3 really focussed and stayed with me in the dressage today, I am delighted with him.  We decided to make the journey to Blair as I have had some good success here winning the CIC* and second in the CCI*** a few years ago. We will take it step by step this weekend, he is a good showjumper and there is plenty to jump on the cross country tomorrow. It’s a very exciting position to be in with this level of competition”.
