SAP, Official Technology Sponsor of the Event Rider Masters series today announced the addition of three new apps to their suite of fan engagement tools for followers of ERM.

Winner Predictions
Using the latest SAP Predictive Analytics technology, SAP’s and ERM’s joint data science partner, EquiRatings, has designed a new statistical model that calculates the likely outcomes of the ERM events before and during every competition. After each phase, it simulates every combination’s score at that event 10,000 times, exploring every plausible result that could emerge. As a world’s first, the new Eventing Prediction Centre will be available at www.eventridermasters.tv this week. It enables ERM fans to follow the simulations and to vote on their predicted top three riders allowing for an “ERM Fan Trend”.

SAP’s Equestrian Sponsorship Head, Henrike Paetz, said “It is fantastic to see ERM advancing the sport of Eventing with continuous innovation in all areas, and we are delighted to be able to support this with our technology. SAP Predictive Analytics is a great tool to guide better decision making, and it is exciting to see it being used to drive even deeper insights for ERM fans.”

Fan League
Also new for this year is the first ERM Fan League, developed with SAP Equestrian Partner Black Horse One, which gives fans the chance to compete for top positions on the leaderboard and amazing prizes. League points can be collected by using the “Spectator Judging” App for Dressage and Show Jumping, by building prediction blocks with the “Stacks” App across all three phases of the competition, by donating online for the series' official charity (see below), and by engaging with ERM’s social media platforms. Charity Integration
In addition, SAP and the ERM will increase their support for the Willberry Wonder Pony Charity (www.willberrywonderpony.org) in making it the official ERM charity. The global equestrian charity campaign was started by young event rider, Hannah Francis, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2016. The campaign funds cancer research and grants equestrian-based wishes for seriously ill people. Support activities at ERM will include a new online donation functionality in the Spectator Judging App leading to extra scores for the ERM Fan League, and ERM riders being provided with a personalized “Berry” mascot to wear it in the cross country phase of the event.

ERM CEO Jim O’Toole said: “SAP’s focus on using its technology to drive fan engagement for Event Rider Masters continues to bear fruit, with the addition of these three new offerings. The integration of SAP products in collaboration with cutting edge partners, reflects our own appetite for innovation in how we present the sport of Eventing.”

The new offerings supplement what the technology partner is already providing to the sport, including the Spectator Judging app, the EquiRatings Stacks app and a range of cross country tracking tools that continue to bring ERM fans closer to the sport than ever before.
