Blair Castle Equi-Trek International Horse Trials
The Castle stands in its grounds near the village of Blair Atholl in Perthshire and is the ancestral home of the Clan Murray and wa historically the seat of their chief, the Duke of Atholl. The castle is in Glen Garry and is the focal point in a designed landscape of some 2,500 acres. The gardens are well-known and spectacular with the 18th Century walled Hercules Garden, a delightful sculpture trail that incorporates contemporary and 18th century sculpture and Diana's Grove which is a magnificent stand of tall trees including Grand Fir, Douglas Fir, Larch and Wellingtonia in just two acres.
The Event Rider Masters competition runs through this magnificent setting which will be an impressive backdrop as the world’s best riders continue to compete for the prestigious Masters title.
As well as the Masters, Blair hosts a wide range of additional competitions across the four days with over 1,200 horses and ponies competing at Blair every year. On Saturday and Sunday there is also a traditional Country Fair with entertainment for all the family.
